Congrats! Gender is tricky enough pin down when talking binary identity, so I could only imagine how fun the questioning process can be when you're nonbinary. 

I remember that once I started doing pit that I genuinely liked band camp because it meant I got to play percussion all day without having to deal with school work. I don't miss it now that I study music performance and have much better access to instruments, but I still remember those days fondly. Have fun!

Fun fun  I watched some of the series in high school, but mostly to spend time with my sis, so I only remember bits and pieces. Happy birthday!

Good accompanists are always tough to come by. Lucky me, percussion doesn't need accompaniment for much other than concerto works.  Still, rock on playing out-of-print works on trombone! 

Class is probably the single most awkward place for something like that to happen. Even when LGB topics would come up in my Caribbean Music Seminar, I couldn't bring myself to express my thoughts even though nobody in that course was homophobic. I couldn't imagine dealing with that on Trans topics, and I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that.

The love stuff in the first two seasons was especially jarring compared to TLA, but I don't think seasons 3 and 4 were quite so ham-handed in that respect. Season 3 was my personal favorite, though its finale made for a not-so-fun time waiting for season 4. Korra's growth as a character is probably one of my favorite things about the series, and that growth starts to feel much more apparent in the latter two seasons.

There's two episodes in particular that make this entire season feel worthwhile though. While it's the weakest season, the content isn't particularly bad, and the ramifications of this season really add nuance to seasons 3 and 4 if you ask me. Enjoy!
