  1. hehe a friend said something to me that basically confirmed they didn't have romantic feelings for me. and i was happy lol! i feel kinda silly but. i am glad to know that it's ok to be aromantic. but... well, they also said that they don't know if they'll keep being my friend because, their life is about to change and might be too demanding to keep a long distance friendship going. and i felt all lonely for that. I know they like being my friend. so how hard is it to make sure we still are friends? if they did have romantic feelings for me, they'd want that! I almost feel insulted. lol.
  2. I advise that trying to consider platonic interactions by means of an orientation paradigm is very impractical. what exactly do you mean to accomplish by a platonic orientation?
  3. I was in three relationships. two of them I had romantic feelings for.... that is, after we broke up. whoops! my last ex I regret breaking things off, but there's no way we can get back together and that makes me sad sometimes. but while we were together. they were just a friend to me, and that was so confusing.
  4. nope lol. Misfile and Go Get a Roomie! are the two I was talking about. and the honorable mention is Questionable Content.
  5. I am just barely romantic enough to "get" romance in most of these ways and yet I identify with aromantic people so so so much more than romantic people, or even asexual people! it is weird.
  6. well then. That feeling when two of the comics you follow on the same day have a romantically charged strip and you feel a little disconnected. this other one I'm following is on a plot line between two characters. and I am hoping that the direction the writer is going is down a close friendship path, not romance... so far they've taken it a long way without sending of any romance flags so I'm hopeful. but still nervous. although I confess I'm a little bit pleased that all three of these plots are between girls hehe. I feel represented or something. boys drool! teehee. (kidding, boys! you rock!)
  7. I'd like to go out ... to a friend's house for a small party where we sit on the couch and talk some and stuff. maybe play a game, that'd be fun!
  8. I enjoy any temperature between 15C and about 90F. depending on humidity and wind chill. I prefer it hotter than cold, however my favorite is when it is about 75-82F, with enough sun to feel its warmth but a cool breeze.
  9. I really don't agree with the conclusion that romance is a construct of society. our culture historically just developed to be better able to express their feelings with words. as a non romantic person, TBH, I find any language that implies social romantic ideals as fake or contrived to be a little disheartening. I mean I definitely agree that the pressure to be romantic that I feel as an aromantic is quite aggravating, but I still don't feel comfortable downright insulting romance just because it makes me unhappy...
  10. I realized something that cleared my head regarding my romantic orientation, to say for certain that I am grey. but then, when I went to change my profile to reflect this newfound understanding, I saw "companionate" and said, "well, yeah, this is better. my orientation is important for any potential partner, and I would definitely not care whether or not I feel romantically for a partner in order to be with them." and so I left it as "companionate" anyway hehe.
  11. I find the thinking aro often misrepresents romanticism and love with a negative or shallow vantage. I find the same of the Quiz. I don't think it's a good idea to use that quiz as a starting point, because even though it is thorough, there is a significant chance that it would influence any derivative quiz negatively.
  12. this isn't something everyone would relate with. but as a questioning aromantic, one who is likely to end up in a romantic relationship someday somehow, I often find myself saying or acting in a way around a friend who might have romantic feelings for me and then thinking "shoot! if they have romantic feelings for me, what I just said was probably a total heartbreak moment for them, oops"

  14. when I was in highschool, this one girl was chatting with me in the hallway for a few weeks, I was starting to think about her as a cool friend I rarely see. one day she asked me, "when are you going to ask me out!" and I was so startled! I don't think I even responded... I think she got nervous after a few seconds and said something else that I was able to comprehend
  15. I rarely had anything I called a crush... and I was so disinterested in them too lol. I'd often just let it fade away, because I could tell they were in such a different circle of friends, that I just wasn't interested. I'd stay within my own friend group instead. when I actually got to a point I was interested in dating... even then I was just too laid-back. I always just thought it was because I wanted them to chase after me. but then, I was a terrible flirt, and sometimes didn't even notice the people I knew were interested in me
  16. I like beers and ciders and wines are growing on me and I used to like mixed drinks but I don't drink more than one drink at a time anymore so keeping around various juices to mix with isn't practical. so mostly I drink ciders these days, but I usually forget to buy more when I run out. but having a cider or a sweet beer with a snack or as a snack can be very nice I like ciders better because I can drink just half or a quarter and leave the open bottle in the fridge and while it goes flat it still tastes nice the next day, you can't really do that with beer.
  17. you might be aro if you keep trying to be people's friends and then they go to kiss you and you go "whuh?" you might be aro if you are looking for kissing just for the fun of it at a party and someone goes, "but I thought you had feelings for sue" and you go "huh?"
  18. I like hugs OK and kissing can be fun and the one person in the world that I cuddled with, I was ok with cuddling too. I like to think that I want these things, but lately I realized that I actually don't know if I do! With the right person in the right situations I know I'd enjoy them though.
