  1. Just because my name's Orion (chosen due to my love of space) and orion wasn't an available name, so I just put a random letter at the start
  2. Autistic people aren't lesser, and the community is very actively against 'cure' rhetoric, autism is an inherent part of who we are as people; to take it away would remove all that makes us us. We are healthy. Autism isn't an illness. If autistic people suffer it's not inherent to being autistic; it'h/s an issue of society, of bullying, and refusal to accommodate us, why not aim to fix that instead of completely changing who we are as people?
  3. Mine: 1) I would like to see more aro characters in general, we're pretty much non-existent in media. But with specifics: I'd like to see multiple aro characters in the one show, with multiple intersecting identities, for example an autistic aro and an allistic aro, so we can provide representation; without accidentally implying an inherent link between the two identities. I'd also like to see specifically nonbinary aros, since thats how i identify, and i'd like to see aros portrayed positively in comedy; as it's my favourite genre 2) At the moment nothing quite lives up to that, but I'm attempting to write an aro short film at the moment (Cupid's Aro) which would address a lot of those points, and keep lightly annoying my friends into agreeing to write a-spec short films/webseries with me
  4. So! two part question for fun- 1) What kind of things would you like to see more of in regards to aro representation in the media (Examples - specific genres, specific identities, intersectionality, ect)? 2) Have you seen any media meet, or be close to, your desires from question 1? If so what was it?
  5. yep yep! What Magni said Trans people can use any pronouns, she, he, they, ect. so none of them are inherently trans pronouns; in a similar way to how there are no aro pronouns, trans people do often consider our pronouns more than cis people which may be why there's a perceived link Neopronouns is the term - any pronouns in english other than she, he, it or they. Neopronouns does mean new pronouns, though an interesting thing is that they've been around for a very long time! Example: thon/thonself pronouns, were coined in the 1800's! and were in the dictionary for around thirty years! ♥

  8. Pagan-ish, no effect on my orientation to my knowledge, but has helped a lot with dealing with intrusive thoughts
  9. Covering my eyes during kissing scenes in movies, thinking that dating was like, a mathematical equation? Like "this person is tall + sporty + aesthetically pleasing overall + decently friendly = I should want to date. If they have the same level of reasons applied to me as well we should date" As a child, planned out my future, planned out my home, pets, adoption of children, ect, and never once thought about there being another person involved; never made plans or fantasised about a future spouse, but everything else I had planned 100%.
  10. Link says 'temporary error' but im not sure if thats just me
  11. I would say using the word would be good, otherwise aro people reading may not feel as represented, and allo people reading will continue to know nothing about aro people's existence.
  12. Will from stranger things, Michael from The Good Place, Data from Star Trek Ianto from Torchwood i headcanon as grey-biromantic ?
  13. Also autistic! I started identifying as aro at 14, there's no age minimum; if you say you're aro, you're aro! with any identity there's a possibility it will change as you age but that's not limited to aro people, if you consider yourself straight it could change, if you identify as cis it could change, ect! ♥ Next point though: this,,, seems a little iffy, can you clarify, Spacenik? because as it stands it seems like you consider autism to be a negative thing that needs to be 'cured'? am i interpreting it wrong?
  14. that's an awful situation, im sorry that happened I hate when people ask me out; or think i'll date them. like,,, a) i don't like dating, and b) if you ask me out you clearly know nothing about me, why would i wanna go on a date with you? I met 2 people on a tram heading back from a convention, chatted with them, and the next day the guy of the pair came up to me while I was volunteering at the convention and asked for my number so we could keep in contact; he and the girl seemed nice; i like nerdy friends, so i gave it to him. Later while texting him, he said he told his mum he had something serious to tell her and his sister told her he "hit it off" with "a girl named Ori" and its like,,, i was equally interested in his sister (maybe a little more interested tbh) and im not a girl!! We havent hit it off!! You dont even know my gender!! Or my orientation!! we're not dating!! anyway this is a long way of saying its an awful and uncomfortable experience and i feel you.
  15. -White rings on left middle finger -Frogs -Pizza -Puns ?
  16. ? thats awesome!!! I've recently been writing a script for a short film idea I had; called 'Cupid's Aro', a cupid attempts to make a person fall in love, using cliche romantic meet-cutes, and has no idea why it never seems to work! I've also been working on other short film/webseries concepts with friends but those are less developed
  17. Are there any specific things you're wondering if they should be allowed a say on? If not- a general rule of thumb, i think, would be how much say should a roomate, friend, or landlord get in your life? Depending on the type of relationship you have with them, whether you pay rent, ect. They get a say in whether you make big changes to the home, they don't get a say in things like whether or not you go to pride parades, ect. ♥
  18. The best option would be to mention them to a doctor, there's a possibility they're not a medical issue; and there's a possibility they are, the best way to figure it out would be to detail the experiences to a professional ♥
  19. Thank you for the icecream! ♥ There's a variety of designs so far, fandoms, and pride mostly I've been posting them on my insta @eorions
  20. Hewwo! I'm new! I'm Orion, they/them, 18, Australian. I'm aroace, which I discovered when I was 14, and trans and nonbinary; which I discovered a little after that. I like to watch tv shows and movies (anything wholesome/happy/or fun pretty much!), and love arts and crafts (have recently been making many many different badge designs!). I have a number of pets, and at the moment am babysitting a lamb for another few weeks at least its currently snuggled up under my arm, taking a little nap. I'm very interested in cryptids, space, lgbt+ media, and attempting to create short films (am currently writing one called Cupid's Aro )
