  1. I'm thinking of either 4th or 5th June for the next discussion meet, and I think we're due a later time of 7PM BST ish this time around as we did 1PM last time. Any requests for topics before I pick something at random from the list?
  2. Just to remind people of tomorrow's online meet - all welcome :-)
  3. Next meet: 23rd April 2022, 1PM BST meet.google.com/qum-mmnd-xkw Connection Are other people necessary to feel a sense of connection? Spiritually, emotionally, etc? Ways we connect with others and build friendships/connections outside of amatonormativity?
  4. I think this is a very good suggestion. Regarding dates, are there any particular dates that the usuals can't do? I could do weekend 2/3 April, 9/10 April, 23/24 April. We're due to do it 1PM BST this month (we'll do evening BST in May)
  5. Oh, this is international and online. I also do a Liverpool social group but that is a different group :-).
  6. There will be. Anyone any suggestions of what you'd like to talk about next month? It'll be around 12noon or 1PM BST, though date tbc as yet. It goes without saying that if anyone wants to organise a similar discussion meet at another time that's suitable for other timezones that are outside what I can do then feel free (I'm more than happy to help you set it up - and it doesn't have to be a regular commitment, the more organisers the merrier as far as I'm concerned!)
  7. Hi @JackieD, you are more than welcome to organise at a later time without me if you'd like, and I'm more than happy to help you set it up. But if you are relying on me for the organisation 10PM is far too late for me even if it wasn't a work night, sorry! Next discussion: Sunday, March 13th, 7PM GMT (UK time) Topic: "Aromanticism and the LGBTQ+ Community" The usual link at meet.google.com/qum-mmnd-xkw
  8. What are people's availability for March? I was thinking 7PM (GMT) on a Sunday this time to give an opportunity for those on Eastern or similar times. It was suggested that maybe we could discuss aromanticism and the LGBTQ+ community.
  9. A late reminder. No issues if you haven't listened to the podcast or read the article. They were just suggestions. I know some people prefer podcasts, others prefer to read, others like to bring their own sources, and the most important in the mix is probably to bring our own life experience - so hopefully see some of you later :-)
  10. And here is a sheet for more detail than the Form. Any problems let me know. I will use both in deciding times. Of course it is also possible to organise something without me if you find my UK limitations too limiting (we all have our limitations so feel free to use the forms yourselves to organise if you'd like to). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eaOCOfABd_8n9YIgkqXcv_ZuDViwvvOuL9npIB4TulI/edit?usp=sharing
  11. Hopefully from next month we'll have more variety in times. It's just I've got certain commitments in January at the moment, hence it's 1PM GMT this month. I might put together a google sheet for people to put their time zones in and best times. Obviously I can't cater for everyone every month, but it'll give me something to work from! Here is a form for people's best times. Please note all times are listed as GMT or BST (UK time) so please convert to your own timezone using the internet search engine of your choice. https://forms.gle/6RmpNyFwsy2WKjYW7
  12. Sunday 30th January 2022, 1PM (GMT) meet.google.com/qum-mmnd-xkw Topic: "Marriage abolition as aro/singlism activism" There's two links that could help with discussion, but if you want to share other articles etc that is fine. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/living-single/201207/should-marriage-be-abolished-minimized-or-left-alone?fbclid=IwAR1OS3vAjuJtFrrg5LjclMZxsC8r0YZj6tR9g4z_M0ycXivMrI7xWLIsc0A https://podtail.com/podcast/public-intellectual/abolish-marriage-with-jessica-stites/?fbclid=IwAR1OS3vAjuJtFrrg5LjclMZxsC8r0YZj6tR9g4z_M0ycXivMrI7xWLIsc0A
  13. Were we talking about alternating it to be a little later on some months. Might be difficult this month because I have a commitment 5PM GMT until the end of January, but maybe could do later in February. Any preference of topic for this month? Any weekend dates that you seriously can't do? Sorry for being a little late in typing this, the Christmas/Yule season is a strange time to get around to things!
  14. I agree with most of what's been said here so I'm not going to repeat it, but I will say that I don't find AVEN a safe space for any aroallo, grace or indeed anyone trying to work out their sexual attraction in trying to separate the romantic and sexual strands of the "normal alloallo experience".
  15. People have joined without video before, and I doubt Google will suddenly change it, so it should be ok. Just to confirm, this will be 12noon GMT, not 1PM
  16. I'm sure that'll be fine. People might not use video for all sorts of reasons, for example if someone is struggling to connect it's advisable. So it'll be fine if you need to just use chat and mic for whatever your reason.
  17. All the usual suspects are fine with it, and it should make it easier for Kali also.
  18. @roboticanary (Mike, I'm hoping I'm tagging the correct person), it's been asked on the Facebook group whether we could make it 12noon GMT instead?
  19. The next meeting will be December 19th 2021, 1PM GMT at the usual link (meet.google.com/qum-mmnd-xkw) Topic: Xmas/Yuletide/Group's 1 Year Anniversary Icebreaker Party (don't forget your own choice of snacks and drinks).
  20. Just to say I look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow :-) It's 1PM GMT
  21. Next meet: Sunday 28th November 2021, 1PM (UK time). The usual link at meet.google.com/qum-mmnd-xkw We'll be discussing a vlog, "No, Demi Isn't Normal" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWd8iSf_Vxw) It discusses demi, grey-attraction, sociatal and media ideas.
  22. Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow. Don't worry if you have struggled to listen to the podcast for any reason, it'll still be great to see you tomorrow if you can make it :-)
