  1. Hey all - The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project (TAAAP) is hosting a Pride Chat once a month, the last weekend of each month, on Discord. Here's the discussion description for this month: In honor of Disability Pride Month and the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the TAAAP Pride Chats’ topic for July will be neurodivergence, disability, and mental health in aro and ace communities. We’re specifically focusing on the importance of inclusion of and accommodations for people with any kinds of disabilities or differences. The rest of the Discord will still be open, along with new channels specifically to discuss the Carnival of Aros and the Carnival of Aces. We will be open from 9am on Saturday to 2am Sunday, then from 8am to 11:59 pm Sunday. We’ll have voice chats on both Saturday and Sunday at 11 am and 4 pm. All times are Eastern Time. To register, go to https://taaap.org/pride-chat-registration/ If you have any questions, feel free to respond to this, or email us at advocacy@taaap.org.

  5. Hey all! I hope everyone is doing ok right now. Pride is coming up, and unfortunately most in-person parades and festivals have been canceled or moved online. However, The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project (TAAAP) plans on making up for that by hosting some chats focusing on aro and ace topics throughout the month of June. If you're interested, take this poll: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSesNtlu_UOjBc_81cSzOtoSVIbtIWa9K-t7cP_uE-yLKdDEhw/viewform?usp=sf_link and vote for the topics you'd be interested in! If you can share it on social media, we'd really appreciate it. If you have any questions, feel free to respond and I'll answer!

  7. Hey all - crossposting here so more people will see it. I work at a bookstore, and we're going to do a display of books on aromanticism or with aro representation for ASAW this year. I'd love some suggestions of books to put out - I have a lot of ideas for fiction, though I welcome more, so I'd particularly like any non-fiction or poetry you can think of about aromanticism, amatanormativity, or other related topics. Thanks so much for your help! -Isabel

  9. Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad you're answering the questionnaires for the book; when you're done, you can send them in any format, whether google doc or word doc or some other form, to asexualawarenessproject@gmail.com. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here or at that email address.
  10. Hi everyone! My name is Isabel, and I'm a board member and cofounder of The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project, or TAAAP (formerly The Asexual Awareness Project; we just rebranded to explicitly include aromanticism). TAAAP is cohosting the Ace and Aro Hospitality Suite at Creating Change 2019. Creating Change is a yearly gathering, and is the largest LGBTQ social rights conference, and this is the first year there will be a space devoted exclusively to ace and aro people! I'm opening up this thread for suggestions and requests. We want to know what you would want in a space dedicated to aro and ace people. We plan on having Ace and Aro 101 handouts, as well as swag representing both spectrums. We'll be able to host some programming, and we'd love to know what topics you might want discussed and what other resources you would want available. We want to ensure that we do not overlook the aro community, and as TAAAP was formerly asexuality focused, we welcome suggestions for ways we can be as inclusive as possible. Feel free to write in this thread, or email us at asexualawarenessproject@gmail.com (don't worry - we're going to update that email as soon as we can). Thanks, Isabel
