  1. Yeah, I agree. It is pretty, not sure what would be the right word I'm looking for, "disappointing"(?) that one or another form of love is considered "less than" or "more than" another, when love is already a very complex thing in itself and shouldn't necessarily be interpreted that way.
  2. Some of you may recognize this from one of your classes, and some of you may not. Wiki defines intimacy, passion, and commitment as: Intimacy – Which encompasses feelings of attachment, closeness, connectedness, and bondedness. Passion – Which encompasses drives connected to both limerence and sexual attraction. Commitment – Which encompasses, in the short term, the decision to remain with another, and in the long term, plans made with that other. Personally, I would prefer companionate love. Something that some people may better recognize as a QPR
  3. I'm not even too sure if I would count or not since I choose not to identify with any romantic orientation whatsoever. I think it's important for romantics to be on an "aromantic site" just as I think it's important for sexuals to be on an "asexual site". It's very informative for both parties to see both sides and point of view.
  4. I wouldn't say that I'm disgusted... maybe sometimes when it comes to couples making out in the hallway. Though, I mostly just feel that making out in public is just so obnoxious and it really annoys me. Hugs and hand holding doesn't bother me the slightest. Now, kisses on the cheek and quick pecks, I do feel a bit of annoyance and disgust, but I get over it pretty quickly. It wouldn't even cause me to roll my eyes, but more like, "Oh, okay. That happened." and move on. Compared to those who are making out and I'd think, "Oh my gosh, what the hell did I just see!?"
  5. Sweet! Welcome to Arocalypse! I hope you enjoy it here and stick around.
  6. Hello! I'm glad that you have decided to join. Welcome!
  7. How do you guys feel about public displays of affection (PDA)? Some of it I don't mind and some of it disturbs me. The best way for me to describe what I consider comfortable with and not comfortable with is to compare it to a traffic light. Green: holding hands and hugging Yellow: short pecks and kisses on the cheek Red: making out with tongue and suggestive body language that makes me want to scream "GET A ROOM!" I think CODE RED is actually very rude. A lot of CODE RED happens in the halls of my high school... and I'm not quite looking forward to what
  8. In regards to the "positive" and "repulsion" part, I think it depends on how exactly people define it, since it's another one of those words. Some people may consider "positive" as "favorable". Which is one of the reasons why I don't say that I'm sex positive because people may assume that I'm sex favorite, when I'm really sex repulsed. But I may consider myself sex positive in the fact that as long as the people involved are consenting and it's legal and safe, then they are more than welcome to do what they please (I just would like to be spared the details). Anyways,
  9. I've always considered myself indifferent to romance. I'm not repulsed by it, but I'm also not "head-over-heels" for it. In regards to the media, it's like a hit or miss for me. I either like it or I don't. It's very much 50-50 for me. Some of it can be super annoying and cliche, and some that I think is actually done pretty well and I enjoy watching/reading it. Though, on a more personal note, I can say that this is one of the main reasons (if not the main reason) why I don't identify with any romantic orientation at all. It's not that I'm confused, but just so that I can be more
  10. Sweet! Welcome to Arocalypse, twin. It's always nice to get diversity in a community and beneficial for everyone.
  11. First of all, thank you for bringing Arocalypse. Second, I really appreciate all the opportunities to the members involved in any changes. I also really like how there's a poll where everyone can see it, it's hard to miss. It really gets the members involved and have a say, I think it's absolutely great. Please keep up the good work.
  12. Yeah... that shield looks pretty freaking awesome.
  13. Sounds sweet! Is there anything in particular that you would prefer, or just be sure that it's the appropriate size and take our creativity from there? Where would one send their submissions (this this, email, etc.), and is there a limit of the number of submissions per person? Also, will you choose the banner design or will there be a vote?
  14. Well, I won't be running, but I do wish those all who are interested the best of luck.
